Back power shafts - the general information

Power shafts serve for torque transmission on driving wheels of the car.

Since both ends each of forward power shafts is equipped with the hinges of equal angular speeds (HEAS). The internal CV JOINT is equipped with the tripodny bearing and by means of a cylindrical pin is connected to the shortened transmission shaft. The external CV JOINT is equipped with the pin equipped with vents entering gearing with a nave of a forward wheel of the car in which it is fixed by means of a stupichny nut.

Internal and external CV JOINTS are equipped with rubber protective covers. Covers serve for keeping in lubricant CV JOINTS, and also for prevention of hit in dirt hinges. Replacement of covers has to be made on a regular basis according to the schedule of routine maintenance of the car, and also in case of identification of cracks, cuts and other mechanical damages, - examine hinges every time at a car poddomkrachivaniye.

Internal CV JOINTS are subject to recovery repair, in case of failure of external hinges their replacement assembled with shaft is made.
