Diagnostics of malfunctions of SRS
System of self-diagnostics of SRS
Check of serviceability of functioning of a control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG
Include ignition, - the control lamp of SRS has to light up and remain with the burning state within about 8 seconds. The refusal of a lamp of switching off demonstrates that the module of self-diagnostics of ECU SRS revealed malfunction which code is brought in the processor memory (see below).
Reading of codes of malfunctions of SRS
| 1. Include ignition (the engine do not start). |
| 2. Connect the diagnostic plug to the plug No. 1 of the diagnostic socket located under the lower cover of the dashboard near the console. |
3. Reading of the codes which are written down in memory of the module of self-diagnostics is made by calculation of gleams of a control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG. A long gleam (1.2 c) corresponds to tens (10), short (0.3 c), - to units. So, the code 12 will look as follows: one long gleam + two short. 4. Codes are highlighted three times with intervals of 1.5 pages. Write down the only a few sequence, then switch off ignition, disconnect the diagnostic plug, analyse codes (see below) and make necessary recovery repair. |
Cleaning of memory of the block of self-diagnostics
1. Having finished works on correction debugged, repeat the procedure of reading of codes of malfunctions. 2. Make sure that ignition is included and connect the diagnostic plug A to the plug No. 1 of the diagnostic socket. |
| 3. During highlighting of codes a control lamp at least for 3 seconds connect the plug B to the plug No. 2 of the diagnostic socket. Make sure of memory cleaning. Disconnect both plugs from the diagnostic socket. |
Cleaning of memory of the block of self-diagnostics cannot be made if malfunction still takes place. |
SRS failure diagnostics
Scheme of an arrangement of contact SRS sockets
1. Make onboard diagnostics. At identification of codes 11, 12, 15 or 16 you pass to the following stage, otherwise continue diagnostics by the analysis of the corresponding codes (see below). 2. At identification of codes 12 or 16 you pass to the following stage of check, otherwise you pass to implementation of the procedure of paragraphs 10 ÷ 14. 3. Switch off ignition and disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action! Wait not less than 20 seconds. |
4. Remove a ware box and disunite the contact socket of a passenger safety cushion of AB9 located on the right under the dashboard. |
| 5. Connect the socket 1F of a diagnostic plait of F to the AB9 socket. |
| 6. Connect the safety cushion resistor to the socket 3F of a diagnostic plait. |
7. Remove the left lower section of finishing of the dashboard. 8. Disunite the lower AB8 socket of the cable reel and connect to it the plug 1F of the second diagnostic plait to the AB8 socket. Connect the second resistor of a safety cushion to the socket 3F of a plait. 9. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition. If the control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG is disconnected 7 seconds later and will remain in the disconnected state within more than 30 seconds, replace the module of a passenger safety cushion (see the Section Removal and installation of the SRS components) and you pass to implementation of the procedure of paragraph 18. If the control lamp highlights a malfunction code, pass to elimination of the reasons of the corresponding refusal (see below). 10. Switch off ignition and disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action! Wait not less than 20 seconds. |
11. Restore initial connection of the lower AB8 socket of the cable reel. 12. Remove the module of a driver's safety cushion (see the Head Podvesk and steering). |
| 13. Connect the socket 1F of a diagnostic plait to the AB7 socket to the socket 3F of a plait connect the safety cushion resistor. |
14. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition. If the control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG is disconnected 7 seconds later and will remain in the disconnected state within more than 30 seconds, replace the module of a driver's safety cushion (see the Section Removal and installation of the SRS components) and you pass to implementation of the procedure of paragraph 18. Otherwise (the lamp does not die away, or joins before the termination of the stipulated time interval), you pass to the following stage of check. 15. Switch off ignition and disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action! Wait not less than 20 seconds. |
16. Remove the left lower section of finishing of the dashboard. 17. Disunite the lower AB8 socket of the cable reel and connect to it the plug 1F of the second diagnostic plait to the AB8 socket. Connect the second resistor of a safety cushion to the socket 3F of a plait. 18. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition. If the control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG is disconnected 7 seconds later and will remain in the disconnected state within more than 30 seconds, replace the cable reel, otherwise (the lamp does not die away, or joins before the termination of the stipulated time interval), make reading of codes and you pass to elimination of the reasons established refusals. 19. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition. If the control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG is disconnected 7 seconds later and will remain in the disconnected state within more than 30 seconds, clear memory of the module of self-diagnostics, otherwise repeat all cycle of checks (see above). |

For check of the module of a driver's safety cushion and the cable reel rotate a steering wheel.
It is not necessary to check at the same time ECU SRS and sensors of forward safety cushions! Replace defective components. |
3. For check of moisture security of the SRS components slightly spray water on body surfaces around their installation (try not to allow direct hit of moisture on the SRS components). 4. Examine salon on existence of signs of hit of moisture. 5. Pull a safety lock No. 11 (see above), ECU SRS, body and main plaits of an electrical wiring. Replace the revealed defective components. 6. Repeat check of moisture security of components. 7.
