Schedule of routine maintenance of the Subaru Forester cars The intervals of routine maintenance of the car stipulated in the present Section are calculated on independent performance by the owner of the vehicle of all necessary procedures. Duration of intervals was defined proceeding from the assumption that the car is operated in the daily mode. Constantly to support the vehicle in dive of a form, some of procedures for desire of the owner can be carried out slightly more often. Authors of the present manual are sure that receiving the maximum return from the power unit of the car and its other knots and systems can achieve only on condition of a conscientious attitude of the owner to care of the vehicle. It is worth to remember as well about need of maintenance of a trade dress of the car on a case of its resale.
At operation of the car in the conditions of strongly dusty area, an intense city cycle (frequent short trips), and also at frequent towage of the trailer, intervals of performing procedures of routine maintenance have to be, whenever possible, reduced to a minimum.
Servicing of the new vehicle, in order to avoid violation of factory guarantee certificates, has to be made at company car repair shop of the company manufacturer of the car.
Through each 400 km of a run or times a week (that will come earlier)
Check the level of motive oil (see the Section Check of Levels of Liquids). Check the level of cooling liquid of the engine (see the Section Check of Levels of Liquids). Check the level of liquid of washing of a windshield (see the Section Check of Levels of Liquids). Check levels of brake fluid and liquid of a hydraulic actuator of coupling (see the Section Check of Levels of Liquids). Check a condition of tires and pressure of their rating (see the Section Check of a Condition of Tires and Pressure of Their Rating).
Through each 4800 km of a run or times a month (that will come earlier)
In addition to the checks listed in the previous subsection: Check the level and a condition of the RKPP gearbox oil (see the Section Check of Level of the RKPP Gearbox Oil). Check the ATF levels and forward differential of AT (see the Section Check of the ATF Level and Liquid of Forward Differential of Automatic Transmission). Check GUR liquid level (see the Section Check of Level of Liquid of the Power Steering).
Through each 1600 km (for models without catalytic converter) - single check
On models without catalytic converter check installation of turns of idling and composition of mix of idling (see the Section Check and adjustment of turns and composition of mix of idling).
Through each 12 000 km or time in 6 months (that will come earlier)
You make replacement of motive oil and an oil filter (see the Section Replacement of Motive Oil and Oil Filter). Check a condition of the rechargeable battery and you make its service (see the Section Check, service and charging of the rechargeable battery). Check serviceability of functioning and a condition of components of the cooling system (see the Section Check of a Condition of Components of the Cooling System). Check a condition of all hoses located in a motive compartment, in case of need you make replacement (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of the hoses located in a motive compartment). Check a condition of brushes of screen wipers, in case of need you make replacement (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Brushes of Screen Wipers). Intense are understood as the following service conditions:
Strong dust content of the area;
Towage of the trailer; Long operation of the engine on single turns / the movement with low speeds; Low ambient temperature (it is below 0th °C) in combination with short trips (extent less than 6 km [4 miles]).

** At operation of the car in any of the listed below conditions, the procedures marked with two asterisks have to be performed through each 24 000 km (15 000 miles) of a run: Intense city cycle at high temperatures of the environment (over 32 °C); The Movement in the hilly or mountain area; Frequent towage of the trailer.
