| 1. The EGR valve usually is located on the inlet pipeline. The majority of failures of the system of recirculation is connected with sticking or damage of this valve. |
| 2. Kill the engine and wait for its full cooling. Having reached through an opening in the valve, a finger press on its diaphragm, - at moderate effort the diaphragm has to cave in considerably. |

3. If the diaphragm does not cave in, or shows noticeable resistance, the EGR valve should be replaced. In case of lack of confidence in results of check compare the valve with new, or obviously serviceable. 4.
