 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Take off a gas-distributing belt and other components of the GRM drive (see the Section Dismantling of the GRM Drive, - removal, check of a state and installation of components).
2. Remove assemblies of axes of yokes of the drive of valves (see the Section Removal, dismantling, check, assembly and installation of an axis of yokes, - SOHC engines).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the sensor of position of the camshaft.
2. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the directing tube of the probe of measurement of level of motive oil.
3. Remove a support of the camshaft and a sealing ring.
4. Accurately take the camshaft from a head of cylinders.
5. Remove an epiploon.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the distributor of ignition (SPFI model) and its runner.
2. Remove a support of the camshaft and a sealing ring.
3. Take the camshaft from a head of cylinders.
4. In case of need remove an epiploon.


DOHC engines

Take off a gear belt and components of the GRM drive (see the Section Dismantling of the GRM Drive, - removal, check of a state and installation of components).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the sensor of position of the camshaft.
2. Remove ignition coils.
3. Uncover a head of cylinders with sealing laying.
4. Evenly, in stages, in strictly certain order, weaken bolts of fastening of covers of support of the inlet camshaft.
5. Uncover support and take the inlet camshaft from a head.
6. Working in a similar manner, remove the final camshaft.

Try to put the removed components as installation them on the engine.

7. Remove odnoplechy levers of the drive of valves.
8. By means of thin a small beard take lock rings, then release support of levers and remove hydraulic proofreaders of valvate gaps

Hydraulic proofreaders of inlet and final valves differ on a design (diameter of the last 0.40 mm more than diameter of the first), - in order to avoid confusion at assembly put the removed components in an oil bathtub, having them as installation on the engine.

It is the most convenient to make extraction of components of hydraulic proofreaders from the landing nests by means of tweezers.


Check

Camshafts

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Measure camshaft deflection size. Compare results of measurement to requirements of Specifications in case of need make a shaft pro-point, or its replacement.
2. Check bearing necks of a shaft for existence of signs of wear and mechanical damages. In case of need make replacement.
3. Measure the outer diameter of necks of a shaft and internal diameter of the corresponding bearings in a head. By subtraction of result of the first measurement from result of the second determine the size of a working gap of bearings. Compare results of calculations to requirements of Specifications in case of need replace a shaft, or a head.

On the DOHC models determination of sizes of working gaps in bearings is made by means of the special calibrated plastic wire (Plastigage set), - follow instructions of manufacturers, do not apply any lubricant, tighten fixture with the required effort, do not install levers of the drive of valves.

4. Estimate a condition of working surfaces of cams of a shaft. Minor defects can be eliminated by means of an emery paper. Measure height of cams. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace a shaft.
5. Determine the size of an axial side play of camshafts by the dial measuring instrument of plunger type. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace a shaft support (SOHC engines), or heads complete with covers of basic bearings (DOHC engines).

Installation

SOHC engines

Camshaft of the left head of cylinders

As a mandrel when landing a new epiploon of the camshaft it is possible to use a face head of the suitable size, or a piece of a pipe of the corresponding diameter

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Oil bearing necks pure motive and establish a shaft in a head of cylinders.
2. Further assembly is made as it should be the return to an order of dismantle of components.
3. At installation of a new epiploon as a mandrel the face head of the suitable size, or a piece of a pipe of the corresponding diameter can be used, - the mandrel has to rest only against a face surface of an epiploon. Sealing sponges of a new epiploon before installation should be greased with jellied lubricant.


Camshaft of the right head of cylinders

1. Oil bearing necks pure motive and establish a shaft in a head of cylinders.
2. Establish a sealing ring.
3. Establish a camshaft support.
4. On the SPFI models install the runner and a cover of the distributor of ignition.
5. Establish a new epiploon.


Final assembly

1. Establish assemblies of axes of yokes of the drive of valves (see the Section Removal, dismantling, check, assembly and installation of an axis of yokes, - SOHC engines).
2. Install GRM drive components (see the Section Dismantling of the GRM Drive, - removal, check of a state and installation of components).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Deploy the engine at the stand the left head of cylinders up. Fill nests under landing of hydroproofreaders of valvate gaps pure motive small.

When filling nests with oil the head has to be strictly in horizontal position, combustion chambers down to exclude probability of hit of air in an oil pressure regulator cavity after installation of the hydroproofreader.

2. Taking hydroproofreaders from an oil bathtub, establish them strictly on the former places. Try not to allow hits of air in assemblies in the course of installation.
3. Put support of levers of the drive of valves on the regular places and record them lock rings.
4. Install odnoplechy levers of the drive of valves: one end of the lever is put on a spherical support, another - on a valve core.

Before installation the interfaced surfaces of covers of bearings of camshafts should be greased with liquid sealant

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Slightly oil pure motive support of camshafts and establish the last in a head so that that levers of the drive of valves were pressed to the backs of cams.

If shaft are developed as it is shown on an illustration, then at installation of a gas-distributing belt shaft of the right head do not need a provorachivaniye, in the left head the inlet camshaft should be turned on 80 ° clockwise, final - on 45 ° counterclockwise.

2. Establish covers of basic bearings of the camshaft, previously having greased their interfaced surfaces with liquid sealant like Three-bond 1215.

Apply sealant moderately, trying not to allow squeezings it at installation of covers in maslotok or on omental surfaces!

Remark: Covers have to be established according to the identification marking applied on them.

3. In stages (at least in 2), in strictly certain order, tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of camshafts with the required effort.
4. Having tightened fixture of support of both shaft, manually check freedom of rotation of the last in bearings, - turn shaft on a small corner so that valves remained closed.
5. Grease with jellied lubricant sealing sponges of new sealing cuffs and press the last in the landing nests in forward support of camshafts.

At installation of sealing laying of covers of heads of cylinders on the specified sites post them liquid sealant is applied

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish covers of a head of cylinders, - apply on four open edges of sealing laying are liquid sealant like Three-bond 1215. Track that at installation of covers there was no shift of laying.
2. Put in covers of a head of cylinders rubber sealing laying and install ignition coils.
3. Install the sensor of position of the camshaft.
4. Installation of the remained components is made as it should be the return to an order of their dismantle (see appropriate sections of the Management).
