The lubrication system - the general information

Device and principle of functioning

SOHC engines

The oil pump of rotor type consists of the case in which internal and external gear wheels are located. Due to rotation of gear wheels supply of oil to engine knots is provided. The internal gear wheel (rotor) is accompanied directly by a pin of a bent shaft and, in turn provides the drive of an external gear wheel (rotor). The pressure is provided due to change in the course of rotation of volume of an interrotor cavity and supported at the required level by means of the reducing valve which is returning back excess of oil on an entrance of pump assembly.

SOHC engine lubrication system contour

1  —  the Full-line oil filter
2  —  Perepuskna the valve on 157 kPa
3  —  the Oil pump
4  —  the Reducing valve on 490 kPa
5  —  the Reducing valve on 69 kPa

From the pump oil on the channel located in the lower part of the right semi-block comes to a full-line oil filter from where moves in the main oil gallery of the right semi-block and is distributed on internal components of the engine.

Besides the block, oil under pressure moves also in heads of cylinders for greasing of components of valvate mechanisms. The amount of the arriving oil is regulated by means of the sprays installed in oil channels. In an axis of yokes of the drive of valves the reducing valves providing deduction of pressure of oil in the set limits guaranteeing serviceability of functioning of hydraulic proofreaders of valvate gaps are built in.

The pallet of a case of the engine is supplied with the maslootrazhatelny plate providing stabilization of the account characteristic of the oil pump.

DOHC engines

Unlike SOHC engines, on these engines oil moves from the pump at first in the oil cooler and only then in the full-line filter.

DOHC engine lubrication system contour

1  —  the Full-line oil filter
2  —  Perepuskna the valve on 157 kPa
3  —  the Reducing valve on 588 kPa
4  —  the Oil pump
5  —  Maslozabornik
6  —  the Oil cooler

7  —  Maslotok of hydroproofreaders of valvate gaps
8  —  Maslotok of a head of cylinders
9  —  Maslotok of the final camshaft
10  —  the Reducing valve on 69 kPa
11  —  the Hydroproofreader of a gap of the inlet valve
12  —  the Hydroproofreader of a gap of the final valve

From the filter oil comes to the main oil galleries of the left and right semi-blocks.

The reducing valves regulating pressure in highways of heads of cylinders are located in the separate maslotoka connecting nests of hydroproofreaders of valvate gaps.

Forward bearings of camshafts are oiled, arriving on the channels laid inside actually in bulk.

Full-line oil filter

The full-line oil filter has a non-demountable design.

Design of a full-line oil filter

1  —  Perepuskna the valve
2  —  the Corrugated filtering element

The filtering element is made of corrugated fibreboard, in assembly the valve is built in perepuskny.

Pallet of a case and maslozabornik

The pallet of a case fastens to the engine block from below, the interfaced surface is condensed with liquid sealant. Maslozabornik is equipped with the mesh filter preventing hit in the lubrication system of sawdust and other firm foreign particles. The reception knot of a maslozabornik is located in the central part of the pallet of a case. On a connecting tube oil is soaked up from the pallet in the oil pump located in the left semi-block.

The Maslootrazhatelny partitions installed in the pallet and the lower part of a case of the engine serve for stabilization of level of oil, and also provide additional rigidity to the pallet.

Oil pressure sensor

Design of the sensor of emergency pressure of oil

1  —  Contacts
2  —  the Diaphragm
3  —  Pruzhina
4  —  the Insulator
5  —  the Contact plug

The sensor of emergency pressure of oil is located in the top part of the block of cylinders. The design of the sensor is presented on an accompanying illustration.

At inclusion ignition, the required rise in pressure of oil is not provided yet, the sensor diaphragm under the influence of a spring moves towards the block of cylinders and closes electric contacts of assembly therefore there is an operation of the control lamp which is built in in a combination of devices.

After start of the engine when pressure of oil exceeds value of 14.7 kPa, the diaphragm of the sensor moves to the opposite side therefore contacts are disconnected and the control lamp dies away.
