Principle of action and check of serviceability of functioning of the fuel pump

Remember that gasoline is extremely flammable liquid!

During the work with components of a power supply system observe all taken measures of fire safety.

Do not smoke! Do not approach the venue of works with naked flame or the carrying unprotected by the lamp shade!

You do not make service of system in the rooms equipped with the heating devices using natural gas and equipped with a control torch (such as vodogre and dryers for clothes).

Do not forget that gasoline is among cancerogenic substances, i.e., - the substances promoting development of cancer!

Try not to allow hits of fuel on open parts of the body, use rubber protective gloves, at casual unforeseen contact with fuel carefully wash out hands warm water with soap.

Immediately collect the spilled fuel and do not put the rags impregnated with fuel and lubricants near sources of naked flame.

Remember that the power supply system of the models equipped with injection of fuel constantly is under pressure.

Before starting a detachment of fuel lines, dump residual pressure in system.

At service of components of a power supply system put on goggles. Constantly hold near at hand the class B fire extinguisher!

Design and principle of action

For considered the electrodriving submersible fuel pump of bladed type is installed. Are a part of pump assembly: a driving electric motor, a krylchatka, the case, a cover, reducing and locking valves and a toplivozabornik with the mesh filter. The pump is combined with the sensor of measurement of fuel consumption in uniform assembly which is located in the fuel tank.

At inclusion of ignition on a signal of ECM there is an activation of the relay of the fuel pump which krylchatka begins to rotate.

The relay of the fuel pump remains in active situation only if ECM establishes the fact of start of the engine, or a starter provorachivaniye. Otherwise ECM in several seconds makes disconnection of a chain of grounding of assembly and the pump is switched-off.

Fuel is soaked up in the first bladed flute of a krylchatka and on the connecting channel under the influence of centrifugal force is pumped over in the next bladed flute. In the course of transition of fuel from one bladed flute in another under the influence of friction force there is pressure difference.

As a result of rotation of a krylchatka of pressure of fuel gradually increases and it is pushed out from the working camera, pumped over in a gap between an anchor and a magnet and under a pressure leaves pump assembly.

On reaching pressure of fuel of a certain value there is an opening of the reducing valve and excess fuel on the returnable line goes back to a gasoline tank. The reducing valve, thus, allows to avoid dangerous increase in pressure of fuel.

At an engine stop the fuel pump also stops functioning, at the same time under the influence of a spring the locking valve works, blocking output port of the pump therefore the path of a power supply system remains under pressure.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Dump pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Dumping of Pressure in a power supply system).
2. Uncover a jellied mouth of the fuel tank.
3. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

Lift a pillow of a back seat and through a service opening in the panel of a floor disconnect an electrical wiring from pump assembly.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Release collars and disconnect from pump assembly of the line of giving (A) and return (V) of fuel, and also a hose of the ejector pump (C).
2. Give the fixing nuts located on perimeter of the top flange and take assembly from the fuel tank.
3. Give tension + 12B on plugs 1 (-) and 4 (+) the contact socket of pump assembly (the battery has to be installed as it is possible further the socket), - the pump has to begin to function. Faulty assembly is subject to replacement.

In order to avoid an electric motor exit out of operation as a result of an overheat do not turn the pump without loading longer, than it is really necessary for check of serviceability of its functioning!

Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.
