Removal, service and installation of forward power shafts

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Remove forward wheels.
3. Also give to Raschekanta a stupichny nut.
4. Remove a rack of the stabilizer of cross stability.
5. Remove the wheel ABS sensor from a casing of a rotary fist.
6. Remove a support of the brake mechanism from a rotary fist and tie up it a wire to suspension bracket elements, without disconnecting hydraulic lines.
7. Remove a brake disk.
8. Since the internal end of a shaft beat out a cylindrical pin of fastening it to a transmission shaft.
9. Take the forelock and give a nut of fastening of a tip of steering draft.
10. By means of a suitable stripper release a tip of steering draft from assembly of a rotary fist.
11. Mark with Chertilka the provision of a head of a razvalny bolt, then turn out bolts of fastening of assembly of a rotary fist to a suspension bracket rack.
12. Turn out a coupling bolt and release a spherical support from the lower lever of a suspension bracket.
13. By means of a stripper (926470000) and a mandrel (92714000) release a pin of a power shaft from a rotary fist.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Mark adjusting position of the CV JOINT on assembly of a power shaft.
2. Straighten the bent ends of bandage tapes of fastening of a protective cover of the internal CV JOINT. By means of the screw-driver or flat-nose pliers weaken bandage tapes, - try not to damage a cover.
3. Remove a cover from the case of the internal hinge.
4. Having hooked, remove a lock ring of an external holder of the internal CV JOINT.
5. Remove an external holder of the hinge from a shaft pin.
6. Remove lubricant and release balls or pins of tripodny assembly, - previously mark provisions of pins of rather free rings.
7. Shift a separator to a protective cover.
8. Remove a lock ring and dismantle an internal holder of the hinge.
9. Remove a separator or a crosspiece of tripodny assembly from a shaft pin.
10. Wrap up shaft vents a protective layer of an adhesive tape and remove a cover of the internal CV JOINT.
11. Release bandage tapes and remove a protective cover of the external CV JOINT from a shaft.

The external hinge is not subject to recovery repair also in case of failure меняв collecting with shaft.


Check of a condition of components

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Attentively examine components of the internal hinge on existence of signs of jamming, traces of development of corrosion and mechanical damages. Estimate degree of wear of the CV JOINT in size of an internal side play of assembly.
2. Check a condition of a shaft.
3. Make sure of lack of cracks, cuts and signs of aging of material of rubber protective covers.
4. Replace defective components.


Assembly

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Assembly of a shaft is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of its components. Fill in a cavity of assembly and a protective cover of the external CV JOINT 60 ÷ 70 of grams of lubricant of the NTG2218 type. Establish a protective cover and tighten bandage tapes of its fastening by means of special adaptation (9250910000).
2. Track that the separator was put on a shaft by a cut outside. When landing a separator to an internal holder achieve combination of its paths with ledges of the last, then develop a separator half way.
3. Fill in an external holder of hinged assembly about 80 ÷ of 90 grams of Molylex No 2 lubricant - for RKPP or Yellow VU-3A702 - for AT. Put a separator and balls, then establish a lock ring.
4. Evenly distribute about 20 more ÷ of 30 grams of lubricant on internal walls of a protective cover, - track that sponges of a cover and a flute under their landing on the case of the hinge remained free from lubricant.
5. At assembly of the hinge of tripodny type track correctness of combination of the landing tags put in the course of dismantle. Do not forget to establish a lock ring.

A little more lubricant jams into a cover: 30 ÷ 40 grams, - use lubricant of the NTG2218 type.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Fill the external end of a shaft in assembly of a rotary fist, - use special adaptation (922431000) and a mandrel (927390000).
2. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to a dismantle order, - do not forget to make in case of need replacement of protective covers of CV JOINTS and to grease sealing sponges of an epiploon of transmission.
3. Having finished installation, squeeze out a foot brake, tighten with the required effort and fuller a stupichny nut.

The cylindrical pin of fastening of the internal end of a shaft is subject to replacement without fail!
