System of recirculation of the fulfilled gases (EGR)

General information

For the purpose of decrease in issue in the atmosphere of oxides of nitrogen the design of the engine provides withdrawal of a part of the fulfilled gases in the inlet pipeline via the EGR valve. Such admixture of the fulfilled gases to air-fuel mix leads to decrease in temperature of its combustion. Besides the EGR valve also electromagnetic operating valve and the converter of the counter-pressure (VRT) are a part of system.

The main component of system is the EGR valve which operation is provided at the expense of the transferred VRT from the depression throttle case. By means of VRT adjustment of depth of depression according to the needs of the engine for admixture of the fulfilled gases determined by ECM on the basis of signals of various information sensors is carried out.

Operation of the electromagnetic managing director of the valve is made at the command of ECM taking into account the current operational parameters of the engine. The valve serves for opening/closing of the vacuum line connecting VRT to an EGR valve diaphragm.

EGR valve

General information

The EGR valve is located between a final collector and the inlet pipeline. At the command of ECM transmitted via the electromagnetic operating valve, the EGR valve opens and on its diaphragm pressure from the throttle case then strictly dosed part of the fulfilled gases goes to the inlet pipeline moves.

Removal and installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the delivery camera of an air path (see the Section Fuel Pressure Regulator - general information of the Head of the Power supply system and release).
2. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
3. Turn out bolts of fastening of the EGR valve on the inlet pipeline.
4. Remove the EGR valve.
5. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to replace sealing laying, track that all fixture was tightened with the required effort (18.6 ± 1.5 Nanometers).

Cleaning

Do not wash out the EGR valve with any solvents! Do not clamp the EGR valve in a vice! Do not forget to replace sealing laying!


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. For removal of the deposits accumulating on a valve saddle surface slightly tap the case of the last the hammer with soft brisk, - you hold the valve in hand. Shake out the garbage formed as a result of an obstukivaniye from the valve.
2. A wire nozzle smooth out the interfaced surfaces of the valve and the inlet pipeline.
3. Wring out a valve diaphragm. Having glanced in an exhaust outlet, make sure of purity of a working surface of a saddle of the valve, - in case of need once again tap the valve.
4. The small screw-driver carefully clean the valve outlet.
5. Blow the valve for the purpose of removal from it small garbage.
6. Clean also inlet opening of EGR in the inlet pipeline.


Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The refusals connected with locking of the EGR system can lead to violation of stability of turns of the engine idling and during acceleration, to decrease in acceleration performance and increase in fuel consumption.
2. First of all make sure of serviceability of a state, reliability of fastening and correctness of laying of all vacuum hoses of the EGR system. Replace the damaged components.
3. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
4. Start the engine and leave it working at single turns.
5. By means of the manual vacuum pump create depression on the valve, - if depression is not kept by the valve, therefore, its diaphragm is torn. At a serviceable diaphragm stability of turns of idling of the engine has to be broken (up to a full stop), otherwise check passability of a connecting path of EGR.
6. Remove the EGR valve from the inlet pipeline (see above) and again create in it depression, - if the valve does not open, replace it.
7. If the valve opens regularly that is confirmed by a possibility of its purge, therefore, the cause of failure lies in violation of passability of lines of a connecting path. Check passability of the giving EGR tube.

The electromagnetic operating EGR valve

General information

The electromagnetic valve is located between VRT and the EGR valve. The valve opens on ECM signal, providing thereby transfer of pressure from the throttle case through VRT on an EGR valve diaphragm.

Removal and installation

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
2. Remove the delivery camera of an air path (see the Section Fuel Pressure Regulator - general information of the Head of the Power supply system and release).
3. Disconnect vacuum hoses and an electrical wiring from the electromagnetic EGR valve.
4. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the electromagnetic EGR valve on the inlet pipeline.
5. Remove the electromagnetic valve.

Installation is made upside-down. Track that the fixing bolt was tightened with the required effort (15.7 ± 1.5 Nanometers).

Converter of the counter-pressure (VRT)

General information

VRT is established between the case of a throttle and the electromagnetic operating EGR valve and serves for adjustment of depth of the depression transferred from the throttle camera to the EGR valve. At adjustment such parameters as the angle of opening of a butterfly valve, pressure of the fulfilled gases, etc. are considered.

Removal and installation

1. Disconnect vacuum hoses from VRT.
2. Remove the converter from a basic arm.
3. Installation is made upside-down.

Check of serviceability of functioning of the EGR system

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. At the engine working, warmed up up to the normal working temperature lift the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft from 3500 to 4000 rpm and track movement of a rod of the EGR valve.
2. In process of increase of turns the rod of the valve has to move up. At an otpuskaniye of a butterfly valve the rod has to return to a starting position.
