Check of a state

1. Weaken nuts of fastening of wheels, cock the parking brake, the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on props. Remove the corresponding wheel. On the 4WD Tacoma models and all models 4Runner screw couple of wheel nuts back on fixing hairpins, having enclosed under them washers 3 mm thick for the purpose of fixing of a brake disk.
2. Remove a brake support (see the Section Check and adjustment of height of situation and free wheeling of a pedal of a foot brake) and tie up it aside a wire to a suspension bracket element, without disconnecting a brake hose, - try that the hose was not tense or overwound. |
| 3. Make visual check of a condition of both working surfaces of a disk. |

| 4. Easy defects can be eliminated by means of a fine-grained emery paper. For removal of furrows more than 0.4 mm in depth the disk should be removed and subjected to a pro-point. Remember that the disk has to be examined from both of its parties! |
|
| 5. If during braking pedal pulsations were noticed, make replacement of brake disks, or send them to a pro-point. |
| 6. At a pro-point of a disk it is necessary to pay special attention to observance of requirements of Specifications to its minimum admissible thickness, - on a face surface of a disk the corresponding marking is provided. Measurement of thickness of a disk is performed in several points by means of a micrometer. |

Removal
Forward disk brake mechanisms
|
|
|
1. A car front also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Prop up back wheels antiretractable
boots. Remove forward wheels.
2. Remove assembly of a support of the brake mechanism and, without disconnecting from it a hydraulic hose, tie up aside to suspension bracket elements.
3. Remove from a rotary fist an anchor bracket of the brake mechanism assembled with blocks, their clamps and adjusting laying.
4. Remove a disk of the brake mechanism from stupichny assembly, - in case of need screw in specially provided openings in a disk couple of bolts on 8 mm and with from the help separate a disk from a nave. |

Back disk brake mechanisms

|
1. A car back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Prop up forward wheels antiretractable boots. Remove back wheels.
2. Remove a support from an anchor bracket of the brake mechanism and, without disconnecting a hydraulic hose, tie up it aside to suspension bracket elements.
3. Remove an anchor bracket from a casing of stupichny assembly.
4. Separate a brake disk from a nave, - in case of need use couple 8-millimetrovymkh bolts. |

Installation

1. Installation is made upside-down. Track that all fixture was tightened evenly and with the required effort.
2. In conclusion several times squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake for shrinkage of components.
3. Before starting operation of the vehicle make sure of serviceability of functioning of the brake system. |
