Removal and installation of the steering pump

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Merge about 3 l of hydraulic liquid.
3. Release, but do not give a nut of fastening of a pulley of the drive of the steering pump.
4. Weaken driving belts.
5. Remove a pulley.
6. By means of couple of wrenches disconnect hydraulic hoses from a wall of the GUR tank and the steering pump, - at once to a zakuporta open nipple connections.
7. Turn out three bolts of fastening of the steering pump to the basic arm.
8. Remove the pump assembled with the tank. In case of need remove a basic arm.
9. Clamp pump assembly in a vice with soft sponges. Remove the tank and disconnect a hydraulic hose from the pump.

All sealing rings of nipple connections are subject to replacement without fail!

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If removed, establish on the regular place on the engine a basic arm of the steering pump.
2. By means of two keys connect a hydraulic hose to the pump, - do not forget to replace a sealing ring.
3. Install the tank of hydraulic liquid on the pump.
4. Installation is made upside-down.
5. In conclusion fill in in the tank necessary amount of hydraulic liquid of the required grade (see the Head Routine maintenance) connect a negative wire to the battery and pump over system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel (see the Section Pumping of a Hydraulic Path of the Steering Drive) - you watch that liquid level in the tank did not fall below an admissible limit.
