Adjustment of geometry of a suspension bracket

Road gleam

Before starting adjustments of angles of installation of wheels it is necessary to check correctness of control of a road gleam of the car.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Tire out the car on the flat horizontal platform with a hard coating, establish forward wheels in rectilinear situation.
2. Make sure of completeness of gas station of the fuel tank.
3. Check correctness of a rating of tires.
4. For shrinkage of components of a suspension bracket several times rock the car.
5. Visually estimate uniformity of distribution of a road gleam on length and width of the vehicle. In case of detection of discrepancies make sure of absence in salon and the luggage compartment of heavy objects.
6. Measure distance from an axis of each of wheels to the top point of a wheel arch. Compare results of measurement to requirements of Specifications - in case of need check a condition of components of a suspension bracket, replace the failed or worn-out details.

Disorder is called the tilt angle of the plane of wheels concerning a vertical. If wheels are inclined by the upper edges outside, disorder is called positive and vice versa. The size of disorder is measured in degrees. Correctness of adjustment of disorder determines the size and the provision of a spot of contact of protectors with the road and allows to compensate changes in suspension bracket geometry during commission of turns and at the movement of the car on an uneven paving.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Weaken both bolts of fastening of the lower support of a rack of a suspension bracket.
2. Adjustment of disorder is made by rotation of the top bolt of fastening of the lower support of a rack, - the bolt has an eccentric head that allows to change a rack tilt angle.
3. Having finished adjustment, tighten fixture with the required effort.

Самоконтрящиеся nuts are subject to replacement without fail!


Disorder of back wheels

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disorder of back wheels is regulated on separate models by means of an eccentric bolt.
2. The deviation of disorder of back wheels (see Specifications) demands check of geometry of a frame of the car from nominal rate. Also the probability of damage of cross levers of a back suspension bracket, and also wear of racks, screw springs and rubber-metal plugs is not excluded.

Angles of installation of wheels


Vybegom is called a corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn of a forward wheel, i.e., a deviation corner from a vertical of an axis of turn of a wheel in the plane of the last. If the axis of turn is inclined back, выбег is called positive, on the contrary.

By analogy, a cross corner an inclination of an axis of turn of a wheel call a corner of the deviation imagined шкворня from a vertical in the plane, perpendicular DP of the car. Выбег is not subject to adjustment and in case of a deviation from requirements of Specifications it is necessary to check a condition of a frame of the car and elements of a forward suspension bracket (levers, spherical support, plugs).


Convergence

Angles of installation of wheels


Convergence is called data size to each other of forward edges of wheels of the car. Such violation of parallelism of installation of wheels allows to minimize wear of a protector at the expense of a skid at commission of turns. At zero convergence the distance between forward edges of wheels is equal to distance between their rear edges. Normal convergence usually does not exceed inch shares (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Violation of adjustment of convergence leads to acceleration of wear of protectors of tires due to slipping them on a paving.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check correctness of a rating of tires.
2. Check correctness of installation of height of a road gleam (see above).
3. Develop forward wheels of the car in rectilinear situation and block a steering column.
4. Weaken lock-nuts of tips of both steering drafts.
5. Adjustment of convergence is carried out by rotation of tips of steering drafts in the corresponding direction, - tips of both drafts should be turned strictly on an identical corner!
6. Having finished adjustment, tighten lock-nuts of tips of drafts with the required effort.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Weaken an adjusting bolt on the back cross lever of a suspension bracket.
2. Rotation of an eccentric adjusting bolt clockwise leads to increase in a divergence of wheels, clockwise, - to increase in a convergence.
3. Having finished adjustment, tighten fixture with the required effort.
